If you have four weeks, you can do
all of the above and then travel up the wild (and sometimes wet) West
Coast past glaciers and old gold-mining towns to Nelson and Abel
Tasman National Park.
If you have five weeks, you will
have time to see everything south of Auckland, including all the
attractions in the South Island.
If you have six weeks, you will
have time to see everything, from the Bay of Islands in the
north, to the Catlins Coast in the south and maybe even Stewart Island
in the very south if you wish. You can see it all, but remember it
would still be pretty full on most days. There is so much to see and
do, you will still find it hard to have a 'day off ' from touring.
And if you have more than six weeks,
well you're just plain lucky, because you'll have time to take a free
day here or there instead of having to rush off to your next
destination. You will also have time to go fishing, play a round of
golf or join multi-day excursions. |
