Accommodation Guide
New Zealand has a wide range of
superb accommodation. All accommodation we recommend has been carefully selected
based on location, first class service, facilities and ambience. All prices
below are per person, based on double/twin share occupancy.
Exclusive
This category offers the discerning traveller the ultimate in world-class
luxury award winning accommodation. Rates range from NZ $700 per person up to
$1,600 per night including full breakfast and a la carte dinner.
Superior
Superior quality lodges and boutique hotels are small and intimate
establishments which offer fine lodging and cuisine in unique surroundings.
Rates range from $300 - $600 per person per night.
Luxury
Our selection of luxury accommodation are all 5 star standard offering world
class service. These include Lodges, Hotels, Boutique Hotels and Bed and
Breakfasts. Prices range between $150 - $250.
Deluxe
The deluxe range are all 4 star standard. These include Hotels and Bed and
Breakfasts and Luxury Apartments offering the discerning traveller the
opportunity to 'stay in' some evenings and cook a meal. Prices range from $100 -
$150 per person per night based on double/twin share occupancy.
Quality
Quality rated establishments are usually of 3 star standard, offering excellent lodgings on a world class standard. The establishments we have chosen are usually Motels, with private bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens offering the opportunity to cook a meal some evenings. Breakfast is not usually included. Prices range from $ 80 - $ 100 per person. Two bedroomed units are often available making them ideal for families or groups.
Economy
These are also usually Motels, of a similar standard as above but are not usually located on prime sites - like lake front for example. Between $ 50 - $ 80 per person per night based on double/twin share occupancy. Motel units with two bedrooms are often available making them ideal for families or groups.
Budget Lux.
There is a huge range of Backpackers in New Zealand offering excellent doubles with en suites, but with a shared lounge and kitchen facilities making it an excellent way to meet other travellers. Many Luxury Backpackers are magically located and offer all the benefits other tourists have available to them - but without the additional cost! Between $ 30 and $50 per person.
Budget
Again in excellent Backpackers offering doubles and triples, but you may have to share bathroom facilities. We certainly do not have any "seedy run down hotels" on our books! My mother only ever stays in Backpackers as they offer friendly service and excellent accommodation. Doubles can be as cheap as $20 per person.
